Why Veneer Rebonding Costs Vary and How to Check Your Warranty Coverage

When a veneer falls off, the cost of rebonding depends on whether the existing veneer can be reused, needs a partial repair, or must be remade. At TU Dental Clinic, we assess your tooth and restoration to determine the treatment needed, then explain whether TU CARE+ applies and whether there will be any additional charges.

If your veneer falls off soon after treatment, you may be worried about having to pay again. We first assess what treatment is needed, then check the support available for that treatment. Even if rebonding is possible, the warranty terms still need to be reviewed. If a new veneer is needed, it may be eligible for support under the aftercare program you are enrolled in.

The information below concerns permanent veneers that have come off or been damaged. If you have the veneer that fell off, keep it safe and bring it to your appointment. Please do not try to glue it back on yourself. A dentist needs to assess whether it can be reused.

My Veneer Fell Off. Is There a Charge to Bond It Back On?

Even if your existing veneer can be reused, we still need to assess its condition and carry out the rebonding procedure. Whether there is a charge, and how much it will be, depends on the treatment provided and the applicable warranty terms.

What seems like simply putting a veneer back on may involve different procedures. Rebonding means reusing the veneer that came off—the restoration previously bonded to your tooth. Repair involves restoring a damaged part, while remaking means producing a new restoration because the existing one cannot be used. The decision to keep, repair, or replace a restoration depends on both the restoration and the remaining tooth structure.

Even when a quote is described as a ‘rebonding cost,’ the steps included may differ if the actual treatment is different.

Treatment needed

Why the cost can vary

What to check in the quote

Rebonding the existing veneer

Assessment and bonding are still needed even when the existing restoration is reused.

Whether consultation, examinations, rebonding, and any necessary adjustments are included

Repairing part of a damaged veneer

The extent of repair depends on the damaged area and the repair method.

Which tooth and which part will be repaired, and whether any additional fabrication is needed

Making a new veneer

The process of fabricating a new restoration is added.

Whether the existing restoration needs to be removed, and which steps are included in the fabrication and bonding costs

Additional treatment for the tooth, gums, or bite

There may be a problem that cannot be resolved by treating the veneer alone.

Why additional treatment is needed and whether any charges are billed separately

This table does not mean that every item is charged separately. It helps you understand what is included in the clinic’s quoted fee. Even for the same tooth, quotes may vary depending on whether removal of the existing restoration, preliminary treatment, adjustments, or remaking are included.

For example, simply rebonding an existing restoration involves different steps from treating the tooth underneath and then making a new restoration. The original price per tooth may therefore differ from the cost of rebonding now. At TU Dental Clinic, we assess the treatment currently needed and the scope of TU CARE+ support, then explain whether any additional charges apply.

Is Treatment Free if the Veneer Is New or Still Under Warranty?

The time since treatment or the warranty period alone does not determine whether treatment is free. We need to check the applicable coverage period, which procedures are covered, and any conditions related to the cause of the problem.

For example, if rebonding is covered but separate treatment of the tooth is not, the same visit may include both supported treatment and additional charges. If remaking is covered, you may not need to pay the full original treatment fee again, even when a new veneer is needed. These are examples of how warranty terms can affect costs; the actual support available depends on the terms of the program you are enrolled in.

If you are enrolled in TU CARE+, we will explain after your examination whether support applies to the treatment needed. Please contact TU Dental Clinic if you have questions about your enrollment or the applicable terms. If a problem occurs soon after treatment, let us know what symptoms you have and when they started. At your visit, we will assess your condition and explain the necessary treatment, the support available, and any additional charges.

Can Another Dentist Rebond My Veneer if the Original Clinic Is Far Away?

Another dental clinic can assess your current condition and discuss possible treatment. Whether the existing veneer can be bonded back on, however, can only be determined after checking for damage to the restoration and assessing the remaining tooth structure.

The consultation and treatment fees at another clinic are separate from how your original clinic handles its warranty. Ask the clinic you plan to visit about its fees, and ask the clinic that originally treated you how treatment elsewhere and its cost affect your existing warranty. Terms vary between clinics, so we cannot assume either that coverage will continue unchanged or that it will end simply because you visited another dentist.

During your consultation, it helps to tell us when the veneers were placed, which teeth were treated, and whether they have been rebonded or repaired before. You can still have a consultation even if you do not have all the relevant records. If you are in pain or discomfort, please do not postpone care while waiting to confirm your warranty coverage.

You can consult TU Dental Clinic even if your veneers were placed at another clinic. We first assess your current condition and the treatment options, then explain whether TU CARE+ can apply and whether there are additional charges. Support is determined by your current condition and the applicable terms, rather than solely by which clinic provided the original treatment.

If My Veneer Falls Off Again After Rebonding, Will I Keep Having to Pay?

If a veneer repeatedly comes off, we first need to reassess whether the same rebonding procedure remains appropriate. The treatment needed—such as adjustment, repair, or remaking—may change depending on the cause of detachment, including the bonding surface, your bite, or damage to the restoration.

Even if the original restoration was rebonded previously, it may now be damaged and need to be remade. Conversely, repeated detachment alone does not mean that all restorations must be replaced. We determine the scope of treatment according to the identified cause and the condition of your teeth.

When the treatment changes, the steps included in the quote and the items covered by the warranty may also change. At TU Dental Clinic, we assess the cause of detachment and your tooth condition rather than making a decision based only on how many times the veneer has come off. We explain the necessary treatment, whether TU CARE+ applies, and any additional charges.

How Does TU CARE+ Apply to ZERONATE Aftercare?

If you are enrolled in TU CARE+, support for rebonding, repair, or remaking may be available within the coverage period and subject to the applicable terms. The scope of support varies depending on factors such as your tooth condition, the cause of detachment, and whether there is damage. We will confirm whether support applies after examining you.

ZERONATE is TU Dental Clinic’s premium laminate veneer brand, built on our philosophy of preserving natural teeth. With near-zero thickness, it preserves natural teeth while pursuing their ideal health and beauty. TU CARE+ is an aftercare option for regular checkups and maintenance following treatment, with different standard service periods for each product line. We will review your enrollment with you and explain the period and terms that apply to your care.

Additional charges may apply if you need procedures outside the scope of TU CARE+ or separate treatment. Before proceeding with additional care, we review the treatment needed and your enrollment terms, then explain which items receive support and how much you will need to pay separately.

If your veneer falls off or breaks, please contact TU Dental Clinic. We will help arrange your care in the following order.

  1. Contact and booking: Tell us about the detachment, damage, or other symptoms, and we will help you book an appointment.
  2. Visit and assessment: We examine the restoration and your tooth, then explain the treatment needed.
  3. Support and costs: We explain whether TU CARE+ applies and whether there are any additional charges, including the amount, before proceeding with treatment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can a Veneer That Fell Off Be Reused if I Bring It In?

If you have the veneer that fell off, please bring it to your appointment. If it is intact, we assess any damage, the remaining tooth structure, and the bonding surface to determine whether it can be rebonded. If you have broken fragments, we check whether they can be used for a repair. We can explain whether the restoration can be reused and what it will cost after assessing its condition.

If Only the Edge Is Chipped, Does the Whole Veneer Need Replacing?

Depending on the damage, a partial fracture may be managed by polishing or rebonding a broken fragment. Even a small area of damage may need different treatment depending on its location and effect on function. The size of the broken area alone does not determine whether a full replacement or partial repair is appropriate.

Once the Warranty Ends, Will I Pay the Same as for the Original Treatment?

Even after the warranty ends, costs depend on whether the treatment currently needed is rebonding, repair, or making a new veneer. An expired warranty does not in itself mean that the entire treatment needs to be done again. We assess your current condition and explain the treatment required and the associated costs.

What Happens to My Existing Warranty if I Have Treatment at Another Clinic?

How your existing warranty applies after treatment at another clinic depends on the terms of the program you are enrolled in. Whether support is available for fees paid elsewhere also needs to be checked separately. Tell the clinic that originally treated you what procedure you received, and ask how this affects subsequent warranty coverage and the handling of costs.

Questions to Ask Before Your Consultation

☐ Which examinations, adjustments, and additional treatments are included in the quoted fee?

☐ How does my warranty apply to this treatment, and how much will I actually need to pay?

☐ If the same problem recurs and the treatment changes, will the support available and the costs change too?

☐ If I receive treatment at another clinic, how will my existing warranty and the fees paid there be handled?
