Walking bleach
Walking bleach is an internal whitening method in which a whitening agent is placed inside a discolored, root canal-treated tooth, temporarily sealed, and then reviewed. The dental clinic manages application and replacement of the agent.
Midline diastema
A midline diastema is a space between the two front teeth at the center of the dental arch. The term commonly describes a gap between the upper central incisors.
Golden proportion in anterior teeth
The golden ratio of front teeth is an aesthetic reference concept that describes the width relationship of front teeth as seen from the front. These are not normal standards or treatment goals that should be applied to everyone.
Microdontia and macrodontia
Microdontia means teeth develop smaller than usual, while macrodontia means they develop larger. Actual differences in tooth size are distinguished from teeth that look relatively small or large compared with the jaw or neighboring teeth.
Lip line
The lip line is the border and position formed by the lips at rest, when smiling, and when speaking. It helps describe how much of the teeth and gums is visible.
Gingival depigmentation
Gum whitening primarily refers to treatments that improve the appearance of the gums by reducing their pigmentation. The subject and method are different from teeth whitening, which involves applying a whitening agent to teeth.
At-home whitening
At-home whitening uses whitening products outside the dental office. Dentist-provided custom trays and whitening agents have application conditions and instructions that must be distinguished from those of over-the-counter products.
In-office whitening
Professional whitening is whitening performed by a dentist while checking the condition of teeth and gums and taking protective measures. Depending on the drug and system used, light may also be used.
Philips Zoom whitening
Zoom whitening refers to a treatment using the Philips Zoom series of teeth whitening products and systems. Depending on the exact product, it is divided into office whitening and at-home whitening.
Tetracycline-related tooth discolouration
Tetracycline discoloration refers to internal discoloration that occurs due to exposure to tetracycline drugs during the period of tooth formation. We determine the cause by checking your medical history and dental condition.
Pola whitening
Pola whitening refers to teeth whitening using SDI’s Pola series of products. There are products for office use and at-home whitening, so it is important to distinguish between the exact product name and directions for use.
Canine tooth
Canines are the pointed teeth between the incisors and premolars. Their relatively pointed crown tips form the corners of the dental arch.
Cusp
A cusp is a part that rises like a peak from the crown of teeth such as premolars and molars. Together with the surrounding grooves, it is involved in chewing food and engaging the upper and lower teeth.
Occlusal surface
The occlusal surface is the surface where the premolars and molars chew food and come into contact with the opposing teeth. It has cusps and several grooves that distinguish it from the sides and front of the tooth.
Palate
The palate is the roof of the mouth. It comprises the firm hard palate at the front and the flexible soft palate at the back, separating the oral and nasal cavities.
Root canal
A root canal is a thin space inside the tooth root where the pulp passes. Each tooth has a different number and shape of root canals, and a single root may have multiple root canals.
Mesial
The mesial direction is towards the middle line of the dentition. The side of one tooth that is closer to the center of the upper and lower front teeth is called the mesial side.
Mesial and distal
Mesial and distal are a pair of directional terms that describe the position and aspect of a tooth. The side closer to the middle line of the teeth is mesial, and the side farther away is distal.
